Thanks for the explanation. I still think the information on your site is as “expert” as it gets. After all, what is a “guinea fowl expert” other than somebody who has successfully raised guineas and has taken the time to observe their behavior? You’ve gone a step beyond that by passing that information along to the rest of us in such an entertaining way. The photos on this site are amazing! You’ve done very well in all respects. Continued success to you and your flock!

We knew that there were other sites using the term Guinea Fowl Forum, but since the URL (http://guineafowlbirds.com/Guinea-Fowl-Forum/index.php) is unique, and the name is utterly descriptive, it seemed the logical approach. Frankly, it has received little attention/use. People prefer to email us via the contact forms – just like you did.

Thanks for referring to the Guinea fowl advice as “expert,” but as stated throughout the website – we are not experts. I only cite the experiences we have had, which have lead us to a flock of some 75 birds over the years.

Just curious, but why did you decide to call your forum “Guinea Fowl Forum?” I would have thought you would have wanted a unique name. I am very happy that your website has flourished and that you continue to offer such expert advice on raising guineas. I do wish you the best, but I was just wondering about the duplicate forum name.

We have owls also – there are some photos on our website. No, we don’t coop the birds at night anymore, but they stay in the fenced area where the dogs protect them.

that “hawk” looks like a owl. Do you shut the door to you coop of not you shoul I lost 16 guinea fowl to a fox.

i have seen my guineas mate and when done turn around , jump in the air and literally touch beaks as if they were kissing. REALLY! I have only witnesses this once but it was very neat.

i have never seen my guineafowls do what you are saying.i have never seen them mate.sometimes i even wonder if they do mate at night,or are just females,but then there’s only one that lays,the small one.
